Japan FaShiOn Week | Spring/Summer 2011

Japan Fashion Week has came and went, and since we missed it we’ve decided to back track a couple days. Yeah it may be a little tacky to post on a event that ended 3 days ago, but who cares. 3 days late is the new on time (not really)

Last year the designers at Beautiful People was one of our favorites.

There’s seems to be a trend of Boho Chic that the designers are trying to bring out in the men’s wear this year. Discovered presented  lot of mixing of animal print  with texture. cropped pants, or jeans rolled up to the past the ankle. Defiantly not sure if  men in the states are going to be as comfortable pulling this look off,  as our friends are in Japan.

ODRADEK | Designer: Demian Celica KANOU

The weather in San Francisco/Bay Area was just as perfect as one could hope it to be for the last summer holiday of 2010.  No matter where your heart settled, there should have been no complaint. Unless your like me, and  decided to check out the annual Labor Day Sales, you may have been a little disappointed. I know I was! Highly shocked to discover that No store had a good sale going. Not a one. I can remember the days when you would see ever person strolling through Union Square, or Broadway Plaza carrying a Brown Bag from Macy’s. Not today!

Urban Outfitters  had slim pickings for use to be my favorite stop. UO is not one of your most traditional retailer which advertise their sales, but what was definitely 2-3 months old was barley 75-60% off.  Unless it was defective. Even that was $19.99 and red inked Final Sale.

It appeared to be more window shoppers, rather then impulsive splurges on deep discounts, off season clearances. As me and another eager shopper walked into Nordstrom and was greeted by dry non-enthused sales people. Is the economy so bad that the quality of customer service a customer may get is pre-historic to zero?

So  I question. Where did the yearly Labor Day sales go? Is the days sifting through every retail rack in the store to find your size obsolete? Are we expected to huddle the family around the computer monitor, and piece outfits  together via the web? I love new technology, but there was so much more value in the old traditional shopping.

Praying for Haiti

Style Freelance 360° wants to send our prayer’s to the people of Haiti, and their loved ones in other countries. As the media continues to say that Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the west hemisphere, we must realize that we are  ALL connected. The devastation is being felt around the world, regardless of the lands poverty level. When something of this magnitude effects any land, we must snap back from all of our luxury lifestyles, frills, and material things. Nothing is has more importance then life it self (360° of life)!

Its sad that mother nature makes us snap back, and take stance, in order  to give support to other places that are not well off. This should happen way  BEFORE a disaster strikes.

People of Haiti and those descending from , we will keep you in our prayers.
